How to Select the Right Options For Bathroom Lighting Fixtures
Appropriate bathroom lighting causes a significant
difference in the look and feel of bathrooms. No matter whether you have a tall
or a restricted budget, with the right knowledge and creativity you should be
able to plan a beautiful bathroom design. And installing the right bathroom
lighting fixtures is an important part of the whole plan.
In your bathroom, with the right kind of lighting, the
experience will undergo a complete transform. The bathroom environment will
become much more convenient and relaxing in presence of the right levels of
brightness coming from the right angles. In this article, we shall concentrate
upon the different options of selecting bathroom lighting fixtures and how to
identify the best ones for you.
Before you decide upon the right chrome bathroom lighting fixtures to install
for your bathroom, it is important to understand the positions that your
bathroom can accommodate new lights and the number of lights that would be required.
Get it determined from your electrician whether your bathroom would be capable
of holding more lights. Also, locate the places that would let you install the
lights. Once you know this detail, you can go ahead to the next step.
In you own a smaller bathroom then go for two to three
lights or sets of lights in total. One would be installed around your wash
basin mirror - either on top of it or on the sides. The other one or two would
be near the bath tub shower and toilet. In case of a bigger bathroom, go for a
higher number of lights. In either case, make sure that you also make the best
use of nature light through windows and skylights.
You have two major options of lighting - can lights or
recessed lights and horizontal lights. The recessed lights are installed either
on the ceiling or on a standard bathroom lighting fixture pendant. These are
more like halogen lights pointing downwards. Installing them over the shower in
form of ceiling lights and over spas is a good idea.
The horizontal lights can be light bars, vanity lights and
scone lights. Light bars are mounted around six to six-and-a-half feet from the
ground around the mirrors. You can install them on top of the mirrors or the
sides. A good option is to install such lights with moving arms, and thus be
able to move them around for the best of effects during your shaving or make
up.
Vanity lights are multiple lights with anywhere between two
to five light units bundled together. These are excellent for large mirror
fittings. Another option is the scone lights that are fitted on the wall at a
height around five to five-and-a-half feet from the ground. These lights are
better for smaller mirrors in terms of practical usage.
